Finger Lakes Wilhelmus Estate Winery Expands |

Since my last visit just before Thanksgiving, work on the new Wilhelmus Estate Winery (click here) production facility continues at a rapid pace. We had just returned from our Pennsylvania trip when I spotted the skeletal beginnings of the new production facility.
My pairing of Wilhelmus’s Noiret wine with my home made beef vegetable soup proved to be a great hit. The peppery taste of this red enhances the flavor of my beef vegetable soup and after a seven hour drive to southern Pennsylvania for our Thanksgiving, this combination was just what I needed for my dinner that night. All of the vegetables in my soup were grown organically in my garden here in the Finger Lakes. I also took a bottle Chambourcin, my favorite Wilhelmus Estate Winery wine, along for the Thanksgiving turkey fry party. Unfortunately, that vanished before I could even get a taste!
I hear that Karen is having a birthday party for Winery Dog Duke in December and that Boud may even break out some of his newly fermented “Champagne” for the occasion. Duke, old buddy, you can count on me to help with the celebration!
