Winery Dog Duke is celebrating fifteen years as a proud Keunen Vintner. His family, Karen and Boud Keunen, owners of the Wilhelmus Estate Winery (click here) in the Finger Lakes, are celebrating the occasion with a special Wilhelmus Champagne tasting on Friday the 18th of December, 2009, beginning at 6:30 pm till 9:30 pm. This is a special event for Wilhelmus Wine Club Members but I wouldn’t miss this event for anything. Winery Dog Duke even sent me a special invitation:

Now fifteen dog years doesn’t sound like many to us, but its equivalent to 90 in people years! And what a life Winery Dog Duke has had as he carefully guards the family wine recipes which were developed by Boud’s father, Wilhelmus Keunen, and handed down to his son Boud.

You don’t have to be a Wilhelmus Club Member to come. But do expect to pay a small $7.00 fee for non-members. I am so excited for Duke. What will I wear? What would you like for your birthday, Duke? Perhaps a new scarf? How about some winter boots? Maybe you would really enjoy a stuffed animal? Don’t worry old buddy, I’ll come up with something. Please RSVP@wilhelmusestate.com.
