Opportunities in the Finger Lakes |

Jeanette called my attention to the beautiful sunrise this morning as I was having my first cup of coffee. I grabbed the camera and rushed out the door this morning to take a couple of pictures. There were patches of blue sky covered by beautiful red clouds which were back-lit by the rising sun. But in only a few minutes, the gray clouds closed the bright blue openings in the sky just as the morning light arrived – very typical of late fall Finger Lakes weather. Just another day of gray skies with temperatures around 30 degrees. The weatherman says that there will be “hit and miss” snow showers today which will change to rain as the day wears on.
It strikes me as there are a lot of things which happen to us in life that are “hit and miss” - events which we don’t plan on, meeting someone whom we have never met before, receiving a letter from an old friend which we haven’t heard from in years. It’s easy for us to just blink a couple of times and resume our usual activities for the day. But, maybe these events should be regarded as opportunities. We all could use some new opportunities here in the Finger Lakes. Just be on the look out for them when they arrive.
