Wilhelmus Estate Winery Outdoor Furnace

While February’s cold still grips the Finger Lakes, there’s one place that you can find a little heat – The Wilhelmus Estate Winery (click here) in Canandiagua. Owners Boud and Karen Kuenen are pretty proud of their new outdoor furnace which supplies heat to Boud’s new production facility as well as to the Winery. The fuel for the furnace is harvested right there on the Wilhelmus property.

And speaking of heat, Valentine’s Day is coming this weekend so why not start your celebration with a visit to some of the Finger Lakes wineries starting at the Wilhelmus Estate Winery (winter hours apply). Karen is warming up the fondue pot and planning to dip some strawberries into her melted dark chocolate and Cabernet Franc mixture. Yummy! The chocolate strawberries will be sampled along with Wilhelmus’s fine wines. Now that’s a combination which is sure to chase away February’s cold and put a romantic arrow into anyone’s heart!
